Rise Above Soccer Academy

The progressive 8-week 2 times per week soccer clinic builds on individual skill work by incorporating team tactics with attacking emphasis on speed of play (mental, physical and technical), building up through thirds of the field, changing point of attack and counters.

  •  (Technical skill development): Learn the foundation of strong technical skill, including turning, shielding, dribbling with speed, passing with both feet, receiving with different body parts, shooting, crossing, heading and goalkeeper handling/positioning.
  •   Incorporate individual drill work into small-sided games to expand skill in combination play, movement, tackling, finishing and shot-stopping/distribution for goalkeepers.
  •  Learn speed of play (think/play quicker), build-up play (positioning/placement), changing point of attack, counters, defending (low vs. high, roles of each position), goalkeeping (short and long distribution, “sweeper keeper”, shots through traffic).
