Terry Stroz began his coaching career at Masuk High School in 2010, where he served as the Assistant Varsity Coach. During his time as assistant coach, he helped lead the Panthers to an overall record of 27-26 in three years helping them qualify for the state tournament in the second two seasons. Stroz was selected as the C.H.S.L.CA. 2012 Assistant Coach of the Year in the state of Connecticut. In 2013, Stroz was appointed the head coaching position at Masuk High School. Since Stroz has taken over the helm, he has led the team in back-to-back SCW Championship appearances and winning the 2016 SWC Division II title. Stroz was voted 2016 SWC Coach of the Year. Stroz plays a crucial role in the youth program where he spends a lot of time working with the youth teams during practice and clinics, along with coaching teams each year.
Stroz has also coached various summer teams, including the 2010 Connecticut Summer All-Star team. Stroz has had the opportunity to coach for Team Make-A-Wish for the past three summers where he has led his team to numerous tournament titles.
Stroz began his personal lacrosse career at Masuk High School in 2001. In his four years at Masuk High School, he helped lead the Panthers to their first SWC Championship and a trip to the state semi-finals. He was named the All-State team both his junior and senior year. After graduating Masuk, Stroz continued his lacrosse career at Western Connecticut State University. While at Western, Stroz set numerous school records in multiple categories and was also ranked nationally for highest face-off percentages in the country. Stroz graduated from Western in 2010 with a Bachelors in Communications and became a high school special education teacher.
Graduate of Shelton High School class of 2000. Played a variety of sports: Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey and Golf. Attended Southern CT State University 2000-2004 and attained a BS in Exercise Science. Post Graduate classes in Exercise Physiology, Health and Nutrition. NCCPT Personal Training Certified. A 13 year Physical Education Teacher in Monroe, coach of basketball and lacrosse at middle school and high school levels. Youth soccer, basketball and lacrosse coach in Newtown for 3 daughters. Has a passion to make athletes better, from sport skills through personal health.
