Joe Iannucci – Owner and Founder

Joe was the founder and former owner of Triple Play. He has been coaching and instructing for the last 22 years. During his 12 years at Triple Play, Joe has instructed hundreds of players, from as young as the age of 5 all the way to professionals. He also was the owner of Xplosion Baseball for 11 years. Xplosion Baseball was an elite travel program with players from all across the state. He instructs hitting, pitching and fielding.

Joe is also the co-founder of “Factual Hitting”. “Factual Hitting” puts the end to all the wrong myths and theories passed down from generation to generation and puts the facts into the mechanics of the swing.
Before Triple Play Joe was the head coach at Masuk High School where he led his team to their 2nd ever State Championship Game.

Frank Fedak – Head Coach Jockey Hollow Middle School

Coach Frank Fedak is very excited to be a part of Rise Above Baseball.  Coach Fedak is a local product, playing baseball for St. Joseph High School in Trumbull.  Frankwent on to play Division I baseball for Iona College in New Rochelle, NY where he also earned his degree in Education.  Coach Fedak has been coaching for 10 years, most of which were spent with the Xplosion travel program which was based out of Triple Play Batting Cages.  Coach Fedak has been affiliated with Triple Play and Coach Joe Iannucci for nearly 15 years.  Over this time Coach Fedak has worked with players of all skill levels and ages 6 to 18.  Coach Fedak was named the head coach of Jockey Hollow Middle School in Monroe this year.  Coach Fedak puts an emphasis on hard work and getting better, but also developing as more than a baseball player, becoming better in every aspect.  When he is not coaching, you can find Coach Fedak playing the game he loves.


Jeff Rago – Former Head Coach Joel Barlow High School

Coach Rago is thrilled to be joining Rise Above Baseball after a long, successful, and rewarding career as a high school coach in Connecticut. Rago started his coaching career in 1995 at Greenwich High School, followed by a stint at Trumbull High School, where he remained until being named Head Coach at Joel Barlow High School in 2008. Rago coached at Barlow through the 2015 season when he retired from high school coaching. Rago takes great pride in his accomplishments at Barlow which include the building of a brand new baseball field which is considered one of the best in the state, the founding of an American Legion baseball program, and the addition of a freshmen program which speaks to the growth of baseball in Easton and Redding under Rago’s leadership. Coach was named one of two Head Coaches for the CT Junior Select All-Star game in 2014 and the Senior Select All -Star game in 2015. Although Rago is proud of all the progress in his tenure, Rago takes the most pride in establishing a program that the community was proud of—one that emphasized to his student/athletes hard-work, respect, togetherness, and the understanding that each individual has a responsibility to themselves, their family, and everyone connected to the program. In addition to coaching high school baseball, Coach also has experience coaching AAU, American Legion, Little League, and Babe Ruth Baseball. Additionally, Coach founded the Jeff Rago Baseball Camp that he ran for many years in Redding. Coach is excited to be returning to the baseball diamond, the best workplace in the world! Rago spends his days is the second best workplace in the world, working as a school counselor for the Trumbull Public Schools. Rago became a school counselor in 1994 after earning his master’s degree from Long Island University in School Counseling. Coach played his college ball at Queens College in New York where he graduated with a degree in Communication Arts, Sciences, and Media. When Coach Rago is not working with kids at school or on the baseball field, you can bet that Coach is enjoying time with his wonderful wife and three fantastic children.
