Newtown, CT – March 22, 2018. Newtown’s newest addition, Cinco De Mayo Fiesta: Brews, Tunes & Food Trucks has announced a one-day festival taking place on Saturday, May 5 from 11am-7pm at Tier One Field at 31 Pecks Lane.  There’s no better way to ring in Cinco De Mayo with the entire family: food trucks, live music, handmade artisans, Kids Zone, Craft Beer Tent and a Margarita Bar!

The festival has partnered with Dylan’s Wings of Change, a foundation established to honor the memory of Dylan Hockley, who was killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14th, 2012. The foundation’s mission is to help children with autism and other related conditions achieve their full potential. Their unique Wingman youth leadership program inspires ALL children to go above and beyond and create inclusive communities in their schools, sports clubs, dance studios and more.  Learn more: http://www.dylanswingsofchange.org

 Lineup includes: The Alpaca Gnomes, Remember September, Fingersleeve, Under The Covers and the day kicks off with Kids Hour with Danny Magic at 11am.

 Food Trucks Lineup: Caseus Cheese Truck, Chompers, Christiano’s Mobile, Donut Crazy, DrewbaQ, FD Chefs, Four Flours Baking Company, Liberty Rock Tavern, My Mixed Grill, Pork Friends & Company, Prime 16 Tap House + Burgers, Sherman’s Tap House, SWAT -Southern Wings And Things & Weenie Lynn’s.

Cinco De Mayo Fiesta is not only a celebration of music and fun but will also feature area food trucks, a variety of great craft beer from New Belgium Brewing Company and a Margarita Bar.    A Kids Zone catering to children 12 & under will offer activities and a bounce house all day and we will highlight over 20 handmade artisans. Tickets are $10 each. Children ages 5 thru 12 are $5. Children 5 & Under are Free.

Why should I visit the Cinco De Mayo Festival?

The Cinco De Mayo Festival will be having 15+ food truck, Beer Tents, Tequila Bar, Live Music and a Kids Zone

 Can I purchase an individual beer or drinks?

Yes. we will have a bar at the festival offering a variety of beers and a tequila bar available for purchase by the glass or can

Do you accept credit cards or checks at the ticket booth and merchandise booths?

Yes. We accept cash and major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover & American Express.

Can I volunteer to pour beer at the Cinco De Mayo Festival?

We do not have any volunteer opportunities available.

I want to go to the Festival, but I don’t want to drink alcohol. Do I have to buy a ticket?

Yes. There will be a $10.00 cover for adults and a $5.00 for kids 5-12 years old. Under 5 is free. You need to buy an additional ticket (s) for beer and tequila drinks.

Can I smoke at the Festival?

No, the Cinco De Mayo is a non-smoking event.

Are there restrictions on what I can bring into the Festival?

The following items are prohibited from the Festival: drinks, food, pets, illegal drugs, weapons of any kind (including but not limited to: guns, knives, scissors or other sharp implements and pepper spray), skateboards or roller skates, unapproved marketing materials/stickers, drones, and selfie sticks. Festival and Fair management may reject items at their discretion on a case-by-case basis.

Can I bring my own food and drink to the Festival?

No, guests may not bring in food and drinks.

Are children allowed into the Festival?

Yes! Children are welcome at the Cinco De Mayo Festival. There will Be a Kids Zone with bounce houses, face painting, hula hoop and other activities

Will there be any food or nonalcoholic beverages available?

Yes. There are a variety of food and drink options available throughout the Fair for your enjoyment.

Can I bring my camera to the Festival?

Yes, you are welcome to bring a personal camera. Tripods, monopods and selfie sticks are not allowed.
